Dr. Patrick Gathondu is a professional who firmly believes in the ability of microfinance to contribute to development and alleviate poverty. He has worked in the microfinance sector from the year 2003, building an illustrious career from a loans officer to the current position of Chief Executive Officer. Has held various responsibilities in microfinance including; Credit officer, Accountant, Branch Manager, Internal Audit Manager and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of BIMAS Kenya Limited , the Secretary to BIMAS Board of Directors and has just completed a three year term of service as a board member at the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Kenya (AMFIK). He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics & Sociology) degree from the University of Nairobi, an MBA in Strategic Management from Kenya Methodist University and a Doctorate degree in Business Administration (Leadership and Change Management) at The United States International University Africa ( USIU-A). Patrick is a professional accountant (CPA (K)) and a full member of the Kenya Institute of Management.

Mary is the Board Treasurer. She joined Bimas Board as a founder member at its inception in 1997. She has served in various institutions at management and policy formulation levels. Such institutions are Kigari College as a Senior Lecturer, Principal Rubate Presbyterian College Meru, BOC position in Red Cross Embu Br and BOM member in secondary school. She has also held positions as a Chaplain in Learning Institutions such as Embu College. She is a practising philanthropist focusing on Educational/ Social/ Spiritual rehabilitation of street children in Shauri slum settlement in Embu town. She holds a Diploma in Education from Kenyatta University, BA (Thl/ Leadership) and MA (Thl / Counselling) from Beacon University USA.

Rose is the Vice Chairperson Bimas Board of Directors. She joined Bimas in 1999 as a member of Business Advisory Council and the Board in 2000. She is a Social worker by profession and has been involved in Community empowerment and building capacities for Women, the Youth and Men to regain their Social and Legal status and to equip them with economic empowerment skills. She has served as a Coordinator of Embu Ecumenical Paralegal Group, a programme of the Development arm (s) of the Catholic and Anglican Diocese (s) of Embu. Rose was a National Executive Committee Member of National Council of Churches of Kenya NCCK, having been Central Region Executive Committee Member and Embu District Coordinating committee member representing Embu to the Regional Committee. Other capacities she has served include being a member of the District Land Control Board, an Executive Committee Member of School Boards, Member of County Assembly of Embu with responsibilities of Chairperson, Committee on Administration and General Purpose, Chairperson Committee on Delegated County Legislation and one of a three Member team Representing Embu County Assembly to a National County Assemblies Forum (CAF). She holds a Diploma in Community Development from St. Paul’s University.

He joined BIMAS Board in 1998 as a member. He is a Registered Pharmacist and has worked as Chief Pharmacist, Ministry of Health, Pharmacist MOH, at Kenyatta National Hospital and Medical Training College. Currently, he is self -employed as a practicing pharmacist. He holds Bachelor of Pharmacy – University of London.

He joined BIMAS board in 1997. He was the founder chairman of BIMAS Ltd. Mr. Kiura has worked in various organizations in a senior position namely Ministry of Agriculture, Soil conservation, Kenya Shell Limited. He is also a prominent businessman and a farmer. He Holds a Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from Egerton College – Njoro, He also holds Diploma in Agricultural Science from University of Eastern Africa (Makerere) and also a Diploma in Marketing from Institute of Marketing – London.
