Handing Over Of Adopted Wards In Nyeri Provisional General Hospital

Bimas Kenya Ltd was honoured to take part in the launching of the refurbished and repaired surgical wards 8 and 9 in Nyeri Provisional General Hospital they had adopted through the programme known as Adopt Ward Initiative. The company officials headed by the CEO Dr. Patrick Gathondu officially handed over the wards on 4th December 2019, to the County government of Nyeri through the Deputy Governor H.E Dr. Caroline Karugu.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Dr. Gathondu thanked the county government for reaching out to them in a partnership that ensured the two wards are refurbished and repaired.

‘We appreciate that she (Deputy Governor Nyeri) came to us and requested if we could be able to support this hospital ‘he said.

‘We are happy to be partners with her because we feel it is what we do at individual level and corporate level that will change the society we are living in. Us we believe in transforming the lives of people we are serving and we do believe that it cannot happen when our people are not having good health ‘

Bimas spent about KES. 2.5 million in doing renovation of the two wards they had adopted. This is not the first time they are doing so as it happened in counties such as Makueni and Embu before. Dr. Gathondu encouraged other companies to join hands and come up with similar programmes to promoting health in the region. On the other hand, Nyeri Deputy Governor H.E Dr. Caroline Karugu thanked Bimas for the corporate initiative they had taken in supporting the health facility with that region.

‘I want to thank companies like Bimas because when I reached out to them, they were very kind and happy to team up with us and help in renovation of these two wards ‘ she said. The wards were officially opened by H.E Dr. Caroline Karugu, Deputy Governor of Nyeri County.
