FUTURE PRODUCT AND SERVICE DELIVERY PLANS
We
are currently preparing our systems so that we can take advantage of the
Micro-Finance Bill when it becomes law. In our current status, we would
like to reach a wider cross-section of low-income people, particularly
those who are rural-based, women and the youth. Recognizing that agriculture
is the mainstay of our economy, we intend to craft sustainable crop husbandry
products. We intend to develop innovative products and services in order
to be able to offer FOSA services to our clients. As stated above, we
are currently operating in Eastern and Central Provinces in 25 districts,
but we intend to expand our geographical coverage so that we have a more
national outlook. Since we would like to offer our products and services
competitively, we will seek value adding strategic partnerships as we
expand our geographical reach and diversify our product and service range.
Quality assurance and risk management systems will be put in place to
mitigate the expanded portfolio.

Education
Loan (Hitimu)
In Kenya, education
is of key importance and every family has a great desire to educate the
children. However, many children drop out of schools and colleges due to
inability of parents to raise the required fees. Many parents sell their
only and hard earned properties such as land and livestock, eventually,
they may only afford to educate one child while the rest drop out of school.
This leaves them poorer and more vulnerable.
School fees also drains businesses as business people draw a lumpsome from
the business which hampers business growth and also affects the family economic
well being.
School fees loans are geared towards assisting parents out of this trap
and enabling them to pay gradually, without loosing their hard earned investments
or draining their businesses. The education loans are intended to boost
the education sector in Kenya. The education loans are in two phases with
a maximum loan of Kshs. 15,000 for phase one and a maximum loan of KShs.
30,000 for phase two. All loans are payable within a maximum period of 12
months.
