Nicholas Mugendi joined BIMAS K LTD immediately after college where he studied a degree in Economics and later an MBA in Strategic Management. Driven by passion and commitment, he is the General Manager championing business growth in the institution. Through his career, he has actively promoted both group and individual activities aimed at improving the social and economic status of those he serves. Keen to his life is his mentoring programme he runs with young entrepreneurs within his local community many of whom have done tremendous milestones in their lives. He is actively involved in local church developments projects with a resolve to share the love of God with the community.

Elizabeth Wanjiru Karinga has been in the micro finance sector for the last 19 years, having grown through various positions within the organization from a receptionist to the head of finance.An urban rural migrant, Elizabeth firmly believes that microfinance institutions play a critical role in financial inclusion, especially in the rural areas, providing resources and access to capital ultimately creating employment and empowering the financially underserved.She holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce- finance option, Certificate in community based microfinance from Coady institute and is an alumni of the school of Africa Microfinance. She is currently pursuing a Masters in leadership and development finance at the Frankfurt School of Finance and management.She champions social performance in the organization.

Mr. Marangu is responsible for the management of ICT Infrastructure at BIMAS KENYA. He has played a significant role in systems implementations and rolling out various technology initiatives for BIMASKENYA. He brings a wealth of experience to the team with over 10 years’ experience in IT management in the financial services sector. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University and currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Systems in the same institution.

Christabel Mbuya Njeru-Legal Manager Christabel is a firm believer in the microfinance industry and its transformation agenda. She prides in working with the marginalised people in the society, championing and advocating for their place in the community. She is a holder of a Law degree from Kenyatta University and a post graduate diploma from the Kenya school of Law. She is an advocate of the high court of Kenya duly admitted to the roll of advocates and is a member of the Law society of Kenya. Her work with Economic and Social Rights Center (Hakijamii)- Kenya ignited her passion in championing for the economic empowerment of the underdog and firmly believes that this can only be achieved through Micro-finance.

Simon Mbuthia joined BIMAS KENYA LTD in 2004. He has served in various capacities and has grown through the ranks to the current position. He has over 10 years’ experience in the Micro-Finance Industry. He is passionate about micro-finance as a way of changing lives and wealth creation. One life at a time!

Edward Karithi is the Internal Audit Manager. Edward is a professional with vast experience in the banking and microfinance sector. He has held diverse roles in the sector including Operations Assistant, Internal Auditor, Risk & Compliance Manager and Finance Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Business Management (Accounting) from Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology Edward is a professional Accountant (CPA [K]) and bronze member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) International he is also a member of The Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Cecilia Mumbi Mutua has 15 years’ professional experience in the micro-finance industry both nationally and internationally. Driven by passion to transform people’s lives positively through community based approach to financial inclusion, hers remain a calling. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in project planning and management from University of Nairobi, Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Mt.Kenya University (MKU) and a Diploma in community development and social work from Kenya Institute of social Work and Community Development (KISWCD). She also has international certificates from Fredskopset (Norway) and Coady (Canada). Focused on reaching at the helm of her career through Merit while upholding her core values of integrity, accountability and Diginity.

Backson Ndiba has served BIMAS KENYA LTD since 2012 and he holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Egerton University, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing from University of Nairobi. Backson has over 8 years’ experience within the Financial Industry.

Esther Faith Wanjue Utuku is an accomplished and Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) with over 14 years of diverse HR generalist experience. She is a strategic leader dedicated to driving organizational impact through people. Currently she heads the HR and Administration docket at BIMAS Kenya Limited, having previously steered the department for more than a decade. She brings a unique blend of institutional history and fresh perspective to her second leadership cycle with the organisation. Her career is marked by a proven ability to build and scale human resource functions from the ground up, including leading HR country-level operations. Esther combines rigorous administrative discipline with a deep-seated passion for mentoring and creating high-performance workplace cultures that empower individuals to reach their full potential. Her professional expertise is backed by a solid academic foundation, which includes an MBA and a Diploma in Human Resources Management, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, and specialized certifications in Psychological Counselling and the Trustee Development Programme Kenya (TDPK). She is also a Trainer of Trainers (TOT) from the Tokyo business school.

Amos Mwangi has over 12 years experience in the banking and microfinance sector. He holds a masters in Business Administration, Strategic Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a bachelors degree in Agribusiness Management from Egerton University.
