BIMAS CEO Joins FINAS 2026 Summit Panel On Advancing Agricultural Financial Inclusion

BIMAS Microfinance CEO, Dr. Patrick Gathondu, was honoured to serve as a panelist at the FINAS 2026 Summit, held on 30th June 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.

The summit brought together key players in the financial and agricultural sectors to share insights, strengthen partnerships and explore practical ways of expanding access to finance for underserved communities.

Dr. Gathondu contributed to a panel discussion on “Leveraging Wholesale Lending to Advance Financial Inclusion in the Agricultural Sector,” highlighting the importance of innovative financing approaches in supporting farmers, agribusinesses and other players across the agricultural value chain.

Agriculture remains a key driver of livelihoods and economic growth, particularly for communities that rely on farming and agribusiness for their income. However, access to affordable and appropriate financing remains a challenge for many players in the sector.

Wholesale lending presents an opportunity to bridge this gap by enabling financial institutions to access additional funding and extend more suitable financial solutions to farmers and agripreneurs. Through partnerships and innovative financing models, more businesses can access the capital they need to grow, invest and build resilience.

The FINAS 2026 Summit provided a valuable platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, foster collaboration and explore solutions that can strengthen agricultural financing and promote inclusive economic growth.

At BIMAS Microfinance, we remain committed to advancing financial inclusion by developing sustainable financial solutions that respond to the needs of individuals, businesses, farmers and communities.

Through our continued focus on agricultural finance, partnerships and innovation, we seek to help more people access the resources they need to grow their livelihoods, strengthen their businesses and move forward.

As conversations around inclusive finance continue to evolve, BIMAS remains committed to being part of the solutions that create opportunities and contribute to a more resilient and inclusive agricultural sector.
